I want to introduce myself! Since I will be spending the next year getting to know your child and you, I want you to know some things about me!
I have had a life-long love of children! I have always taken great pleasure in being a part of making a child's world more enriching, nurturing, and positive! As a young girl you would routinely find me taking care of my little brother and dolls, then later becoming a sought after babysitter.
I am a married mother of two grown sons, so I am very proud of the wife and mom I am and have been. In addition to these two very important roles, I add teacher. I love teaching and have been doing so for 29 years! My journey as an educator has been fulfilling, challenging, ever-changing, and a part of my life I value deeply.
I am a life-long resident of San Marcos and an attendee of San Marcos schools. I graduated from and earned my teaching credential from San Diego State University. I feel blessed to have such a history in a terrific school district and town!
My goals for the children in my care focus on developing the "whole child", meaning that I recognize the many differences in each and every child including background and learning styles, interests, strengths, challenges and emotional/social needs. Educating children requires the understanding that academics is one piece that is important, but it is equally important to develop childrens' belief, or mindset, that he or she has what it takes to reach their greatest potential in any area. I believe every child "can" and I strive to help every child "see" and belief in his/her self in setting and reaching goals. I do this by providing choice when appropriate, opportunity to think outside and beyond, providing a safe, nurturing classroom, attainable challenges to be met, strong character development, structure, and my personal connection to each and every student!
In addition to my love of educating children, I love spending time with family, traveling throughout the U.S. cats, fashion, weather changes, outdoors, and the Caribbean!
"Learning is a journey that has no end; when we are no longer learning, then there is no joy."
